VUDA site allocation through draw system

The VUDA sites situated in Kurmannapalem Phase 7 will be allotted through 'draw' system. The draw will be will held on 31st of this month between 11am and 2413 applications have been received. Out of 1183 applications have been received for LIG sites, 317 were rejected while 1167 applications for HIG, 66 applications were rejected. The rejected applicants' particulars will be displayed on the notice board of the VUDA office on 18th of this month.

Prof.PVS Rama Rao to participate in International Conference

Railway Women's Conference

Golden Crown to Goddess Kanakamahalakshmi

Dr.G.Ashok Kumar and his wife has on Friday presented a golden crown to Goddess Kanakamahalakshmi on Friday. On this occasion, Mayor Rajana Ramani was attended the event. According to the Temple Committee Manager K.Srinivasarao, the cost of the golden crown costs to nearly Rs.2 lakhs. Special pujas will be performed from 15th to 22nd to the Goddess.

Free entry for physically handicapped children

The VUDA Vice Chairman, D.Srinivasulu announced that while participating in the World White Cane Day celebrations organized by SPACE, a voluntary organization, in association with the Helen Keller Institute for the Blind and VUDA, at the VUDA Park on Friday physically challenged children will enjoy free entry into all the children's parks in the city.
He distributed 100 walking sticks to the visually impaired children. Nearly 250 visually impaired children from SOS Village, Child Foundation of India and the Helen Keller Institute participated.

Car explosion

One K.Chandrasekhar Reddy of Kothavalasa was injured in an explosion in a stationery car at the busy Dwarakanagar junction here on Friday evening. Following commotion and traffic jam, a traffic home guard on duty rushed and rescued him and admitted him to a nearby hospital where his condition is said to be stable. Mr.Reddy is running a medical shop and a travel agency. The 4th town SI
(law and order) is investigating the case.

Dalit issues

The Dalit Liberation Organization has urged the member of National Commission for SCs and STs, V.Devender to resolve several issues faced by dalits in the district. In a memorandum submitted to him on Friday, the DLO urban district convener, P.Vijayaprakasarao brought to his notice the alleged malpractices in the allotment of pattas for house sites issued through the Social Welfare Department in Narava village and sought his intervention to allot the house sites to the poor among SCs and STs.
