New Center of Vision Aid inaugurated

On the eve of the World Blind Day celebrations, Vision Aid is starting a new centre according to its secretary VSR Prasad. In this new centre, Blind persons, children, poor vision persons will be tested and necessary treatment will be given to them free of cost. The centre is being inaugurated in the first lane of the official colony and it will work round the clock. On the eve of the birth anniversary of Dr.CMA Jaheer, Sneha Jyothi founder president, Sri Swami Vivekananda Voluntary organization has distributed cloth material to the aged people on Thursday. They also distributed books to the poor children. On this occasion, Dr.K.Nageswararao, Swami Vivekananda Voluntary organization representative V.Kodandarao and Satyasri Study Circle Principal C.Vasu participated. Easter Power to accept feedback on its services via SMS

The Eastern Power Distribution Company Limited will send feedback to customers via SMS on grievances registered at its call centre or Customer service centre. The facility is available presently to the subscribers of Hutch, AirTel and Tata Idea. Mobile users of three companies have to communicate their service number and cell number to the email id, call centere_apedclvsp@yahoo.co.in.

Land Development programme
Visakhapatnam, October 14, 2004

The State Government will launch a Comprehensive Land Development Programme at a cost of Rs.500 crores on November 19th to mark the birth anniversary of Indira Gandhi. The Minister for Rural Development, D.Srinivas said that the programme is aimed at making 3.5 lakh acres of assigned land fit for agricultural operations.

He said, the Government earmarked Rs.200 crores for purchasing of land and for distribution of landless. The Government launched a scheme on October 2nd to provide 40kgs of rice and Rs.100 a month to buy provisions apart from guaranteed employment for four months in a year.
