Regional Eye Hospital gets sophisticated equipment
Visakhapatnam, October 25, 2004

The Right to Sight society has donated hi-tech equipment worth of Rs.1 crore to the Regional Eye Hospital on Monday and was commissioned. The Mayor, Rajana Ramani who was the chief guest of the occasion, stressed the need to have trained hands to handle the equipment and promised to extend any help to the hospital.

She said, an action plan in coordination with the Regional Eye Hospital to train the teachers of the 100 schools being run by the Municipal Corporation to carry out basic tests on their pupils to detect vision defect. The Superintendent of the Hospital, Hemalatha Devi's request for sanction of funds, the Mayor promised that she will approach the MPs of the city to sanction of funds from their MPLAD fund.

The MLA of Visakhapatnam II, S.Rangaraju urged the doctors and paramedical staff of the Regional Eye Hospital to make best use of the ultra modern equipment to serve the people better.
