Parliamentary panel visits HPCL Refinery
Visakhapatnam, October 17, 2004

The Parliamentary Committee on Petroleum and Natural Gas headed by the former Chief Minister and the Visakhapatnam MP, N.Janardhana Reddy on Sunday visited the Visakha Refinery of the HPCL. The committee will have discussions with representatives of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas and officials of the HPCL on Monday on 'Social objectives of oil sector Companies'. Mr.Janaradhana Reddy planted a sapling in the refinery during his visit.

The Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority has invited applications from individuals and institutions for participation in the mega flower show to be held atop Kailasagiri hills during 21st to 24th October. Competitions will be conducted in the presentation of major fruits and vegetables, cut flowers, vegetable carving etc.,

The exhibits must reach the venue by October 20th. Details can be had from the Horticultural Officer and the Project Manager, G.Satish (94403 16553 or the Assistant Director, Horticulture 98484 98303.

Extremists destroys Liquor shops
Visakhapatnam, October 17, 2004

Activists of Adivasi Viplava Mahila Sangham, a frontal organization of the CPI (Maoist) on Sunday evening attacked a liquor shop near Rintada junction in GK Veedhi mandal and destroyed it according to the SP Sajay Kumar Jain. The PW has been opposing the sale of liquor in the agency area.
