Flower show from 21st at Kailasagiri
Visakhapatnam, October 11, 2004

FlowersIn a press conference held on Monday, the Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority Vice Chairman D.Srinivasulu said that Flower Show will be conducted from 21st to 24th of this month at Kailasagiri. This event is being conducted due to Dassera holidays which give relief to the children.

Different varieties of flowers, availability of the plants and how to grow will be explained by the volunteers. For purchase of these flowers a separate stall is also being installed. An estimated 4lakh people will visit the show. For smooth flow of traffic two shuttle services will be deployed and arrangements are also made for parking of vehicles for the visitors.

New LIC building inaugurated
Visakhapatnam, October 11, 2004

The Life Insurance Corporation's new building was inaugurated on Monday at Seetammadara by its Zonal Manager T.Chatapadaya who was the chief guest for the occasion. In this occasion, he said the new building was constructed with a cost of Rs.2067 crores for extending better services to the customers. For the past 48 years, LIC is extending excellent service to its 16 crore policy holders in the country. The turnover of LIC is nearly twenty thousand crores per year and settling claims worth of Rs.1.50 crores. Post Card campaign

The All India Students Federation will launch a postcard campaign to highlight the delay in the release of scholarship and fee reimbursement arrears that are due to students belonging to the backward classes. About Rs 32 crores pertaining to the previous academic years is due to 2.7 lakh students.
