District Collector reviews petitions
Visakhapatnam, October 4, 2004

The District Collector, Praveen Prakash on Monday reviewed the follow up of petitions being submitted by people at Spandana before start of the program. The Collector once again insisted with the officials to take action without delay, conduct field visits frequently and not to leave work to the lower level officials. He said no petitioner should come to the official for the second time to pursue his/her petition.

VMC action plan
Visakhapatnam, October 4, 2004

The Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation is chalking out an action plan to tackle the flooding of the One Town area from Jagadamba junction to Kotha Road. Water from the low lying areas will be pumped to the outlet, SL Canal which is above the drain level.

A sum of Rs.50 lakhs would be spent from the funds earmarked to deal with flash floods to set up two pumping mains for the purpose according to the Municipal Commissioner N.Srikanth.

Loan Mela by SBI
Visakhapatnam, October 4, 2004

The Deputy General Manager, SK Chaudhuri on Monday speaking to the press persons said that the State Bank of India is organizing Maha Utsav-2004 from 10th October to 13th October to sanction loans of various nature. The four day festival would be the biggest and first of its kind being organized by the 31 branches in the city.

The personal segment products, such as housing loans, loans for purchase of vehicles, mortgage loans to meet household commitments, educational loans for children, personal loans for domestic needs and festival loans would be sanctioned on the spot, he said. During the period no processing fee will be charged at the Utsav at confessional interest rates.
