Port Employees plan nationwide strike

Visakhapatnam, November 5, 2004
Following the failure of the talks by the representatives of the Five federations of port workers' unions with the Minister for Shipping on 1st November, the five federations will hold nationwide demonstrations on 8th November and also to go on strike on or after 8th December to press their demand for 20 per cent productivity linked incentive.
The Visakhapatnam Harbour and Port Workers Union, Visakhapatnam Port Employees union and Visakhapatnam Dock Workers Union will stage the protest on 8th November demanding bonus according to the settlement.
