Bandh call by BJP on 30th November
Visakhapatnam, November 15, 2004

The Bharatiya Janata Party will organize a State wide bandh on 30th November to highlight the plight of the farmers and also demand compensation to all farmers and weavers who have committed suicide.

According to the national secretary and former Union Minister, Bandaru Dattatreya speaking to reports on Monday that the national Food for Work programme launched by the Prime Minister on Sunday in the State as nothing but the Food for work programme of the NDA Government with a few changes.

The BJP leader charged the State Government with failure to get adequate relief from the Centre to match the drought since it had declared only 735 mandals as drought hit.

National Seminar on Women
Visakhapatnam, November 15, 2004

The Institute for Human Science and Service is organizing a national seminar tilted 'liberation' with the topic: women, science and spirituality on 27th and 28th November.

A Centre for Empowerment of Women would be inaugurated on November 28th as part of the national seminar, the president of the Institute and former Vice-Chancellor of Andhra University, K.Ramakrishnarao said in a press conference on Monday.

Helpage India approves Sankar Foundation Eye care project
Visakhapatnam, November 15, 2004

Helpage India has approved an eye care project of the Sankar Foundation Eye Hospital to conduct 300 cataract intro-ocular surgeries to the aged in the North Andhra districts. A cheque for Rs.1.2 lakhs half the sanctioned amount has been presented as advance for performing the surgeries.
