Vikasa Tarangini Car Yatra postponed
Visakhapatnam, November 1, 2004

The proposed one thousand car yatra proposed by the Vikasa Tarangini and the Sri Venkateswara Bhakta Mandali on the one thousand pillar mandapam in Tirumala scheduled to commence on 6th November has been postponed following the High Court's direction to rethink on the yatra according to a joint press release from the two organizations.

Vividhabharati Fortnightly released
Visakhapatnam, November 1, 2004

Vividhabharati, a Telugu fortnightly, edited by a senior journalist, Patti Nageswara Rao was formally released by the District Collector, Praveen Prakash on Monday. Speaking on the occasion, the Collector felt that the four pillars of democracy should work together.

Senior journalists, Mangu Rajagopala Rao and B.Prabhakara Sarma, the Vizag Journalists Forum president, S Siva Shankar and the DRDA additional project director spoke at the function which was chaired by the Chief of Bureau of the Hindu R.Sampath.

NTPC workshop

Vigilance Awareness Week
Visakhapatnam, November 1, 2004

Public Sector undertakings, banks, Government Organizations and departments commenced Vigilance Awareness Week on Monday according to the guidelines of the Central Vigilance Commissioner.

At the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, the Director (finance) PK Bishnoi, stressed the need for improvement in systems to prove transparency in decision making. SBI Zonal Office commenced the Vigilance Week with its Deputy General Manager, SK Choudhary, administering the pledge to the officers and employees.
