After the demolition of one thousand pillar mandapam at Tirumala, it seems that it is the turn of Simhachalam Devastanam Trust Board to remove donor stones and certain inscriptions sculpted on the floor of the ancient Sri Varaha Lakshminrusimha Swami Temple with antique value has raised protests.

The beautifully carved 16 pillared Natya Mandapam and 96 pillared Klayana Mandam bear testimony to the architectural excellence of the temple. The officials concerned have sought formal permission from the Endowments Commissioner for issuing work order to carry out the task. The Board, among other things has decided to go in for granite flooring in the sanctum sanctorum make major modifications in the Dwajasthambham and Prhalada mandapam by utilizing 12 kg.of gold.

The note lawyer, Kandala Srinivasa Rao said that the move is highly reprehensible as it would hurt the feelings of the donors. The Pendurty MLA, T.Gurumurty expressed shot over the mover and termed it as most unfortunate.
