Tributes paid to NG Ranga

Visakhapatnam, November 7, 2004

NG Ranga's services were remembers on his 104th birth anniversary organized by Veluvolu Trust and MPM Trust. The former MP MVVS Murty, who addressed a meeting at Ranga's statue on the Beach Road, described him as a leader who had dedicated his life to the rights of the farming community.

In Hyderabad, the Pradesh Congress Committee president, K.Keshava Rao and other leaders paid glowing tributes to the freedom fighter. At the NG Ranga Agricultural University, its Vice-Chancellor, S.Raghuvardhan Reddy garlanded Ranga's statue and addressed the staff and students.

Case against DM.Vijaya Kumari Ex MP
Visakhapatnam, November 7, 2004

A case of trespass and criminal Intimidation was booked by the fourth Town police. According to the Fourth Town Sub Inspector (Law and Order), Lakshmana Rao said Ms.Vijaya Kumari had bought a house at Rajendranagar at Seethampeta in which a nursing school was being run. On Saturday, she went to the house and wanted it to be vacated. The Management of the school had said the agreement was still valid and also reportedly obtained injunction order from the court. On a complaint lodged by Ch.Sugumnavathi, a case was booked against the former MP.

Minister called on the blast victims
Visakhapatnam, November 7, 2004

The Minister for Revenue, Dharmana Prasada Rao who called on the victims in Srikakulam blast incident who were undergoing treatment at KGH on Sunday, assured them that the Government would provide them necessary help. He was accompanied by the Minister for Commercial Taxes, Konatala Ramakrishna. The Superintendent of the KGH, Sai Gopal apprised them the condition of the injured.

AU Youth Festival 2004
Visakhapatnam, November 7, 2004

Andhra UniversityThe AMAL College at Anakapalle will host the annual Andhra University Youth Festival 2004 from November 28th to 30th which was stated in a press conference on Sunday by AU Vice Chancellor, YC Simhadri. The festival would be called Saradotsavam since the college was situated on the banks of the River Sarada and also because it's an educational and cultural festival. He said more than 3000 students including 800 girls from 150 colleges under the university purview are expected to participate.
