A blood donation camp was organized on Saturday by MIST Degree and Post Graduate College in concert with Round Tablers 92 and AS Raja Voluntary Blood Bank. Nearly 54 students of the college took part in this camp.

Rally by Fishermen
Visakhapatnam, November 20, 2004

The Fishing Boat Workers Union will take out a rally from the Fishing Harbour to the Collectorate on Sunday on the occasion of the World Fisheries Day.

The Union Secretary, T.Rahiman said that they would submit a memorandum to the District Collector demanding the implementation of the Murari Committee report sanction of house pattas to fishermen, rise in diesel subsidy for fishing boats and stopping dumping of industrial effluents into sea.

BJP fast against the arrest of Kanchi Acharya

More than two hundred leaders of the BJP, The Mahila Morcha, Viswa Hindu Parishad, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and BMS observed a day long fast to protest against the arrest of Sankaracharya of Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam, Sri Jayendra Saraswathi.

The hunger strike camp was held at RTC Complex in Dwarakanagar and will continue till Monday. The former all India president of the BJP M.Venakaih Naidu is likely to visit the camp on Sunday.

CISF Raising day was observed at the parade grounds of HPCL's Visakha Refinery. The refinery General Manager, AS Rao reviewed the ceremonial parade by the CISF personnel. He gave away prizes to the winners of various competitions held for them and their families.

The Indian Overseas Bank, Visakhapatnam Region will organize a Trade Credit Utsav from 22nd to 27th November in 14 branches in 11 centres in the three north Coastal and Godavari districts.

In a press release the Senior Regional Manager, AJ Prasad said that the bank would offer incentives like free processing, free ATM and credit cads and spot sanctions and appealed the traders to utilize the opportunity.
