Unlicensed crackers seized
Visakhapatnam, November 6, 2004

During the police raids, the Visakhapatnam Police seized unlicensed crackers worth Rs.1 lakh from an apartment in Pandurangapuram layout on Friday. The police found 100 boxes of crackers. The owner was absconding. The police is searching for the person. Raids also continued even on Saturday late in the evening under the supervising of the joint Action Committee comprising of the Regional Transport Officer, CI and SIs concerned.

PF defaulter's properties seized
Visakhapatnam, November 6, 2004

The Employees' Provident Fund Organization has seized the properties of the Training and Production Centre of Andhra Pradesh Vikalangula Cooperative Corporation at Bakkkkannapalem in Madhurawada for default in payment of dues. This was disclosed by the Regional PF Commissioner, TV Subba Reddy that despite repeated notices, they failed dues worth of Rs.2.36 lakhs from 1997 to 2001.

Veda Dharma Rakshana Sabha to construct Veda Pathasala
Visakhapatnam, November 6, 2004

Veda Dharma Rakshana Sabha, the management of Sri Guruvayoorappan Mandir in Seetammadara north extension layout will begin construction of a Veda Pathasala and an auditorium at its premises next week. According to its vice-president, K.Lakshminaryana said the Sabha was set up in 1946 and the temple built in 1981.

The work of the pathasala and auditorium would begin on the occasion of the visit of Mata Sari Brahmanandamayi from Mumbai on November 13th and 14th. A souvenir to raise funds for the new venture would be brought out. The coordinator JA Raman said the Mataji would conduct bhajans, recitals of Lalitha Sahasranam and pujas during her stay and special buses are being arranged by the APSRTC for the occasion.

Children's film fete from 16th November
Visakhapatnam, November 6, 2004

Children's film festival will be organized from November 16th to 24th according to Joint Collector Peeyush Kumar. Popular movies would be screened in the city and Gajuwaka cinema halls. The popular movies include Hindustan, The Mother, Super Boy, Little Hearts, Hero and Dinosaur. The films are mostly entertainment and educational oriented. The tickets were sold to the schools through the District education office from November 5th and are priced at Rs.5.
