Diabetes at alarming rate in Visakhapatnam
Visakhapatnam, November 10, 2004

On the occasion of World Diabetes Day on Saturday, the Diabetes Foundation at Visakha Diet Clinic will conduct a free fasting blood sugar test. The founder president, Anuradha Reddy speaking to the media on Wednesday said that the prevalence of obesity was rising in both developed and developing countries. There are more than 194 million cases of diabetics worldwide and the figure is estimated to go up to 330 million by 2025 according to a survey conducted by the International Diabetes Foundation.

Joy of Festival
Visakhapatnam, November 10, 2004

The seventh national conference of Pentecostal Fellowship of India began on Wednesday. The National Commission for Minorities member, VV Augustine, Yonggi Cho, Roger Houtsma and Dick Bernal will address the sessions. Nearly two thousand delegates from various states are attending the conference. The Chairman of the committee, TC George told reporters that they would hold ‘Joy of Festival' during the five day conference.

Lok Adalat
Visakhapatnam, November 10, 2004

The week long legal literacy programme ended with a mega Lok Adalat held in the District Court premises on Tuesday which is also the Legal Services Day. The District Judge, N.Vidya Prasad, The District Collector, Praveen Prakash, The Commissioner of Police, B.Prasada Rao, the Metropolitan Sessions Judge, MSR Murty, the Municipal Commissioner, N.Srikanth and former Bar Council of India, DV Subbarao and other spoke on the occasion.
