Visakhapatnam, July 27, 2004

The National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) Simhadri Thermal Power Project has donated Rs. 5 lakhs to the KGH and Rs.1 lakh to the Lebenshiffe School for the Mentally Challenged. The NTPC Simhadri General Manager, R.Rama Rao presented the Cheque to the in charge of the KGH, CV Rao and the Lebenshilfe executive director T.Saraswati Devi.

Scrap GO 56 - AU students' agitation

Visakhapatnam, July 27, 2004

Andhra University Arts students have boycotted their classes demanding immediate scrap of GO 56. The students of SC, ST and BC association students went to each class and requested them to come out of the class and they voluntarily came out. The association of SC, ST and BC students who are studying under self financing scheme demanded the Government for immediate refund and scrap the GO 56. The AU research scholars demanded immediate restoration of hostel facilities, reinstatement of 32 suspended students immediate restoration of back log posts and fill up the leave vacancy posts etc., Later they burnt the copy of the GO.
