Sri Visakha Grameena Bank to issue credit cards to farmers
Visakhapatnam, July 31, 2004

Sri Visakha Grameena Bank proposes to issue Kisan Credit Cards to farmers, small and marginal farmers with an outlay of Rs.60 crores according to its Chairman T.Madhavarao.

In a function held at Sabbavaram branch of SVGB, the bank to finance 150 farmers to the extent of Rs.40 lakhs at Sabbavaram and a proposal to sanction loans to 18,000 SHG to the tune of Rs.40 crores. In a special drive to reschedule the crop loans and sanction new loans, the Chairman said as per the guidelines given by the Government all crop loans upto March 31st would be rescheduled with a moratorium for two years and these loans would be repayable from the third year

Lions Club adopts schools
Visakhapatnam, July 31, 2004

The Lions Clubs International district 3242 C1 will continue a series of service activities this year according to the District governor. Speaking to reporters, he said that the district has an ambitious programme to adopt schools and organize 250 camps covering one lakh beneficiaries It has also set a target of one hundred agricultural awareness programs, fifty blood donation and cancer awareness camps, one hundred diabetes awareness camp and ENT surgeries.

Aasha to conduct one-day mimicry training camp
