Huge withdrawals at GTB branches
Global Trust Bank Visakhapatnam, July 26, 2004

Hundreds of customers lined up for withdrawals of money right from the early hours before the branches of the Global Trust Bank on Monday. Police force deployed to prevent any untoward incidents. Till 5pm on Monday the city branch at Asilmetta paid Rs.43laksh to 553 depositors while at Gajuwaka branch paid 32 lakhs to 400 customers. More cash counters were opened to meet the demand of the customers.

The Visakhapatnam Port Trust management has agreed to enhance the pension of its retired employees with effect from January 1st, 1998 according to K.Prabhakararao, General Secretary of the Visakhapatnam Port Trust Staff Association. It will benefit nearly 4000 pensioners.

Lions Club of Visakhapatnam Eye camp

The Lions Club of Visakhapatnam conducted a free eye camp at Revidi village of Padmanbham mandal. 500 persons were tested and out of them 54 were referred to Regional Eye Hospital for cataract operations.
