Panel member visits NTPC

Member of the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission Bhanu Bhushan visited the NTPC Simhadri Thermal Power Station on two day visit on Saturday. During his visit, Bhanu visited sea water pump house and plant main control room. After visiting HDVC Station in Gajuwaka, he also gave a special talk on 'availability based tariff' to station officials. He was accorded warm welcome by NTPC GM SC Pandey. Coaching for GATE 2005

The Visakhapatnam branch of the Andhra Pradesh Study Circle has invited applications for coaching for GATE 2005 examinations. The last date for receipt of filled in applications is December 15th according to the honorary director of the Circle M.Prasada Rao. The candidates belonging to SC and ST who have passed civil, electrical, electronics and communications, mechanical and computer science are eligible for the coaching programme. Constable post aspirants lathicharged

More than 5000 candidates have poured in for 350 posts in RPF here from Srikakulam, Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam districts and the limited civil police personnel could not control the crowd. As the situation went of hands, the police was forced to use Lathicharge to disperse them from the police barracks to bring normalcy in the area. The AP Civil Liberties Committee district unit has demanded that the committee State leaders arrested by police at Kodiselakunta in Mulugu mandal of Warangal district be released unconditionally. In a statement issued here by the president and secretary said the two leaders had gone to gather details about the Oddiguda covert incident and collect letters from Maoists for extension of ceasefire. Case against call centre owner

The Fourth town police on Sunday booked a case against a call centre at Dwarakanagar for promising jobs to people as junior customer care executives and collecting money from them. They were given training for 60 days but the US Company for which they were supposed to work apparently was not launched as scheduled in October. About one hundred youth had reportedly paid Rs.10,000 each to the call centre owner. The Police is investigating the case. The Mayor, Rajana Ramani has condoled the death of a senior TDP leader and former chairman of VUDA Kovvuri Gangi Reddy. The Mayor who was in Mumbai recalled his services to the city as VUDA chairman and his association with several leading organizations. The CPI (M) leaders on Sunday paid tributes to Gangi Reddy.
