Landmine blast - constables hurt
Visakhapatnam, December 15, 2004
Members suspected to be the CPI (Maoist) set off a landmine in GK Veedhi mandal in Visakhapatnam district causing serious injuries to four constables. The injured were brought by two Naval helicopters and admitted in a corporate hospital. Out of four injured, two were seriously injured while the rest with minor injuries. However, doctors say that there were out of danger. It is to be noted that the attack took place only a day after Ramakrishna gave a call to the cadre and supporters of the CPI (Maoist) to repel the attacks by the police as a measure of self defense. The DIG of Police T.Krishna Prasad, the Superintendent of Police, Sanjay Kumar Jain, the Deputy Commissioner of Police K.Lakshmi Reddy and the Additional DCP, AV Subba Rao received the injured policemen at the airport and rushed them to a corporate hospital. Panel to visit Sarada Peetam

The three member committee, appointed by the State Government and headed by a retired IAS officer PVRK Prasad to go into the controversial master plan implementation at Tirumala will visit Sri Sarada Peetam at Chinamushidivada on Thursday according to a press release by the Peetam. Inter district gang nabbed by police
Visakhapatnam, December 15, 2004
An inter district vehicle lifter and four of his associates were arrested and 17 vehicles stolen in three districts were recovered by the city police. The accused adopted an almost pucca method by having RTA agents generate fake vehicle registration certificates for the stolen vehicles from the computers of RTA offices in Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam according to the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police AV Subbarao said in a press conference. The special team formed by the Commissioner of Police B.Prasada Rao to investigate the theft of vehicles.
