The 40th Junior Red Cross week will be observed in all schools and Junior Colleges of the district from Saturday. Some competitions like traffic training, tree plantation etc.

Praja Assembly on August 14th
Visakhapatnam, August 5, 2004

A Praja assembly' on Public Sector Privatization will be conducted on 14th August according to Praja assembly nirvahana committee convener D.Punna Rao. He said the committee was trying to highlight people's problems that were to be raised during the talks between the People's War and the State Government.

Nearly 40 people's organisations and advocates of democracy joined to form the committee so as to protect the rights of people and ensure that the pre-poll promises of the ruling parties at the State and the Centre were implemented for the benefit of the common people.

Revival package for BHPV under process
Visakhapatnam, August 5, 2004

The revival package for the ailing Bharat Heavy Plates and Vessels (BHPV) would take three or four months to be processed and approved, according to its Chairman and Managing Director of its holding company, Bharat Yantra Nigam Limited. The MLA Ganta Sreenivasarao said on Thursday that the process under consideration.
