Special package by APSRTC for Krishna Pushakarams
Visakhapatnam, August 13, 2004

On the eve of Krishna Pushakarams, the APSRTC has introduced with a novel package. During the Pushakarams period, special buses will operate from Narsipatnam, Anakapalle, and Visakhapatnam with a minimum 40 passengers and facilities like mineral water, news papers will be provided.

The fare is fixed Rs.350 per head for to and fro and in return journey some important temples will be covered. According to the Regional Manager D.Satyanarayana, reservations can be done at Dwarakanagar or can contact over phone numbers 2746411 and 2532410 or Assistant Traffic Manager 9848171955 for further details.

Mahalakshmi Co-operative Society closed
Visakhapatnam, August 13, 2004

A former bank employee and his wife allegedly cheated depositors to the tune of Rs.50 lakhs.

According to police, one R.Venkatarao and his wife opened Mahalakshmi Cooperative Society and a chit fund company at Sharma Shaktinagar and collected fixed deposits from the residents. Suddenly they closed the shutters and fled away. Police are investigating the case.

Eye camp by Rotary Club

The Rotary club, Visakha Port City conducted a free mega eye camp for the benefit of farmers in Sheelanagar recently. Nearly 1026 patients were examined and 150 cataract surgeries were done.

State-wide Fishermen dharna
Visakhapatnam, August 13, 2004

The Andhra Pradesh Fishermen Association has decided to organize a dharna before the Collectorate on 23rd of this month. In a statement issued by its secretary L.Balakrishna said that the fishermen problems have not been solved despite change in the Governments in the State.
