MLA distributes relief for fire-mishap victims
Visakhapatnam, August 18, 2004

S.Rangaraju, MLA, Visakhatnam II handed over Rs.1500/- to each of the victims who had lost their house in the fire at Ambedkar Colony near R & B Office on Tuesday. He directed the officials to make necessary arrangements for provision of pucca houses to the victims.

BSNL Customer meet

Two arrested in theft cases in AU
Visakhapatnam, August 18, 2004

The city police on Wednesday arrested an attender of Andhra University and another person to recover stolen equipment from the university laboratories worth nearly Rs. 2 lakhs.

Announcing this at a press conference, the Police Commissioner, B.Prasada Rao said that several thefts of microscopes and lab equipment had occurred since 2002 in the university and 11 had been registered on complaints by the Head of the Physics department and 10 others. In the recent theft, the investigating team and Clues Teams pressed into service leading to the arrest of two.

Stamp in memory of Tenneti Viswanatham

A commemorative postal stamp in honor of the freedom fighter, Tenneti Viswanatham will be issued on his 25th death anniversary on November 10th. This was stated by the former Bar Council of India, Chairman and honorary president of Dr.Tenneti Viswanatham Memorial committee, DV.Subbarao said on Wednesday.

Salary advance to RTC Staff

The APSRTC Staff and Workers' Federation on Wednesday represented to the management to sanction a month's salary as Krishna Pushakarams advance to employees as was done in the case of State Government Staff working in the districts where the 12 days event is being organized according to a press release.
