Silver Jubilee celebrations of Brahmavarchas Research Institute proposed
Visakhapatnam, August 15, 2004

Sri Durga Gayatri Shakthi Peetham will conduct a three day celebration to mark the silver jubilee of the Brahmavarchas Research Institute of Shanti Kunj from Monday.

The inaugural will be held at the Gayatri Parivar Office in Gajuwaka on Monday. The second programmes will bee conducted at the Peetham premises in Bheemunipatnma. A seminar on 'science and spiritualism' will be conducted at VUDA Children Threatre (Map)on the valedictory day.

AU Geology Department building renamed
Visakhapatnam, August 15, 2004

Andhra University on Sunday named the building of Department of Geology as 'Prof. Mahadevan Bhavan'. Prof.Mahadevan served as the head of the department during 1945 to 1962. At a meeting, the Vice-Chancellor, YC.Simhadri recalled the services renendered by the geologist to the university.

Targets for Crop loans set
Visakhapatnam, August 15, 2004

The Minister for Commercial Taxes, Konatala Ramakrishna while delivering the Independence Day address at the Police Stadium revealed that the district has set itself a crop loan target of Rs.350 crores to farmers and a team of officials had visited every village to enlist the farmers who needed loans and rescheduling of loans and submitted to the Banks.

He said, he was very happy that the banks came forward to sanction loans to the farmers. Already Rs. 220 crores has been released as loans. He said that Super specialty hospital will be constructed during the next coming years for extending more medical aid to the common people.
