VUDA to launch regularization drive

VUDA City Planner holds meeting with officials

After the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC), it is time for Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority (VUDA) to take up a regularization drive. The VUDA City Planner K Anand Babu has held a meeting which is attended by District Panchayat Officers of Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam and the Municipal Commissioners of Anakapalli, Bhimili and Vizianagaram and the Village Secretaries of Panchayats that come under the purview of the VUDA.

The meeting discussed at length on various aspects about the implementation of a special drive regarding Building Penalisation Scheme (BPS) and Layout Regularization Scheme (LRS) as a follow up action to the release of the Andhra Pradesh State Government Order GO Ms No 901 and 902.

The City planner said that awareness campaigns on the two schemes will be organized extensively and that the funds collected during the regularization drive will be used for the development of amenities in the region. He said that the plot owners can register for the schemes by February 28, 2008.
