MoU for acquisition of high-grade limestone

The Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL) and Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Tuesday for acquition of high grade lime stone in Sultanate of Oman at fifty fifty ratio.

The limestone is used as fluid material to remove impurities in steel making. At present the RINL is annually importing nearly 3.5 lakh tons of high grade lime stone. The acquition would enable both the SAIL and RINL to have steady and cost effective supply of limestone.

RINL Executive Director (Corporate affairs) MVR Sarma and SAIL executive director (Corporate Planning) AK Jain inked the pact.
