Official orders likely to be issued in few days time

The much awaited proposals for establishing a new police station at Potinamallyyapalem is going to be realized soon. According to sources, the official orders are likely to to issued within three or four days. As of now, there are 12 police stations in the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) limits. Thanks to the influence of the Gangavaram Port administration, the Government has quickly made the sanction of a new police station in the Gangavaram region.

When Kaumudi was the City Police Commissioner, the proposals for establishing a police station at Potinamallyyapalem was sent. For some reasons, it could not be materialized. A majority number of police cases are getting registered in the Three Town police station. To minimize the pressure on the Police station, the present Commissioner of Police, N Sambasiva Rao succeeded in getting green signal from the Government for establishment of a new police station at Potinamallyyapalem.

Sources says that the Government has accepted the proposals for establishing a new police station and indications to this effect were reached to the Commissionerate. Some of the areas which are under the purview of Three Town police and Bheemili Police Station limits will now come under the newly proposed police station limits.
