Weavers’ corporative generates a revenue of Rs.1.5 crore

The State owned apex weavers’ cooperative APCO has recorded impressive sales in the just concluded festive season. The 23 outlets and six exhibitions in Visakhapatnam and Viziangaram districts and the neighboring states brought in Rs.1.5 crores, which is up by fifty percent from the Rs.96 lakhs in the corresponding last year.

The APCO is placing fresh orders with the weavers’ societies in the State for a total of Rs.11 crores. Pochampally, Dharmavaram, Madhavaram and Chirala saris are among the favorites of women flock. To cash in on the demand for it high-end as well as other customers, it came out with the exhibitions to introduce the new and attractive varieties designed by the weavers.

The Divisional Marketing Officer, C Kanakaratnam of APCO said that the exhibitions will continue for some more days. These exhibitions will offer 20 percent rebate. Besides, APCO is also readying itself for the demand during the summer by placing orders.
