Eastern Naval Command makes official announcement
The long cherished dreams of Vizagites are going to be materialized very shortly. Starting March 30, 2008, the night landing of flight services at Visakhapatnam will be allowed in the newly constructed Visakhapatnam Airport according to a statement by Eastern Naval Command (ENC). SpiceJet has already announced that it will operate its services from March 30, 2007.
There is every possibility of other airliners to operate during nights once the night landing facility becomes operational. The facility paves way for the international airlines to operate its flight services to and from Visakhapatnam. The Eastern Naval Command (ENC) had several times tested the feasibility of night landing.
Airport Authority Civil Aviation Director General has given a green signal for operation of night landing of flights at Visakhapatnam Airport. Keeping in view of the wishes of the Visakhapatnam people, ENC has allowed to operate flight services in nights also.
