Largest turnover since inception of the plant

The Visakhapatnam Steel Plant registered the highest sales turnover of Rs. 1,062 crore in January this year. This is the highest sales turnover since its inception that includes exports of Rs.51 crore.

With this, the cumulative sales from April 2007 and January 2008 touched Rs.7,827 crore and secured growth of Rs.12 percent over the corresponding period of last year. The domestic sales are up by 13 percents and exports by four percent during the period.

Sales of special steels up to January 2008 was recorded as 13.93 lakh tones that comes to 59 percent and that of pig iron as Rs.573 crore that comes to 33 percent growth over the corresponding period of last year.
