All the city lanes echoes with Govinda Namam

Balaji Rath Yatra touches Visakhapatnam

The Visakhapatnam city thoroughfares on Sunday witnessed a sea of devotees congregated to have darshan of Lord Venkateswara being taken out in procession on board Chaturyuga Bandham-Bhakti Chaitanya Yatra Radham. All the lanes echoed with the Govinda namam and mirrored the height of devotion. The Rath Yatra was being organized across the State by the TTD to impart piety among the people. The Ratham that arrived in the city last night, started from TTD Kalyanamandapam in MVP Colony early in the morning after Suprabhata Seva, Thomala Seva, Archana Seva and other rituals.

It later moved through the city roads via Maddilapalem, Akkayyapalem, Sri Vaibhava Venkateswara Swamy Temple, NAD Junction and Gopalapatnam and culminated at Simhachalam. It was more a visual feast for the devotees who thronged all the way to offer prayers to the Lord who was flanked by Goddess Padamvati and Goddess Lakshmi.

Thought the officials made wide arrangements, they had a tough time to control the crowds who scuffled for prasadam. Traffic personnel confronted difficulty in diverting the vehicles, which came to a halt at several places. Meanwhile, the arrangements are underway to organize Kalyanam to Lord Venkateswara at Sri Lakshmi Nrusimha Swamy temple in Simhachalam on Monday.
