District Review meeting held
The District Review Committee meeting held here on Saturday witnessed MLAs from both Congress and Telugu Desam Party expressing their unhappiness over the implementation of the Indiramma housing scheme, lack of implementation of the assurances made in the past, many parts of the agency areas still lacking roads and protected drinking water. They expressed concern over the violation of CRZ regularization by a resort near Rushikonda and GVMC not taking action.
The Minister for Transport and in charge of district Kanna Lakshminarayana presided over the review meeting. He expressed his unhappiness some times when the officials failed to come out with the required information. In respect of Indiramma scheme that was top on the agenda saw Anakapalli MP P Chalapati Rao disputing the figures on the progress of works furnished by the officials and said bills were not being paid to the beneficiaries.
The Narsipatnam MLA, Ch Ayyannapatrudu said that he approached the Chief Minister, Dr.YS Rajasekhara Reddy after 1,100 eligible beneficiaries in the first phase and 2,400 in the second has had been ignored. He charged that the village committees were not allowing the true beneficiaries to get the benefit.
