APSRTC Online reservation trial run inaugurated

Bus Ticket bookings to and from Hyderabad currently available

The RTC Executive Director BSR Murty inaugurated the trial run of advanced online passenger reservation system of APSRTC to enable booking of e-tickets from and to any place between Visakhapatnam to Hyderabad on Friday.

The APSRTC Regional Manager, N Venkateswara Rao said that the system which was connected to Hyderabad server through MPLS VPN with broadband connectivity as backup, if found to be successful, would be inter-connected to other major cities like Vijayawada, Tirupati, Kurnool and Bangalore subsequently.

With this system, like rail reservation, passengers in Visakhapatnam can book tickets to buses leaving Hyderabad to other cities and vice-versa. He said that there were plans to extend the project to authorized travel agents, allow passengers to book, and print their e-tickets through net. He said that the operation of special package tours to Sabarimala, the Visakhapatnam regional witnessed more than 50 percent increase of revenue compared to last year.
