Award given for outstanding achievement in environment management

The Visakhapatnam Port Trust (VPT) has been adjudged the winner of 'Gold Award' in the Service Sector for its outstanding achievement in the field of Environment Management for the year 2007. The award was presented at the VIII Annual Greentech Environment Excellence Award presentation programme held at Goa on August 29, 2007. It may be noted that the Port has bagged the award for the second time in the field of environment management. The Deputy Chief Engineer DSN Raju and Executive Engineer PM Raju received the award.

The Hindustan Zinc Ltd., has been conferred with 'Greentech Environment Excellence award in recognition of HZLs efforts to improve the environmental performance through proactive initiatives and best practices.

The award was received by SK Burman from the Chief Minister of Goa Digamber Kamat, HZL bagged this award for the year 2006.
