The Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP) earned a net profit of Rs.1363 crore in the last financial year. It also achieved a record turnover of Rs.9,151 crore during the same period. The VSP Chairman and Managing Director, PK Bishnoi announced this at the company's Annual General Meeting held on Monday.

Bishnoi asserted that the best efforts are being made for acquiring the state of art technology for the expansion. He stated that linkages for raw materials security are being explored. The expansion funding will be from internal sources and partly through debt. He said that the Corporate Plan 2020 for the company has been finalized. As far as sales are concerned, it achieved a record sales turnover of Rs.3,431 crore during April-August 2007, a growth of seven percent over the sales of Rs.3,198 crore in the same period last year.
