GO 678 issued to curb illegal constructions

Another GO issued to covered Bobbili, Parvathipuram and Salur municipalities

The State Government has released GO 678 to put an end to illegal constructions cropping up in the Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority (VUDA) limits. It is found that most of the housing projects constructed recently does not adhere to the basic norms.

Nearly 1,700 sq.km of area under VUDA encompassing Visakhapatnam, Bheemunipatnam and Viziangaram Municipalities and 290 panchayats comes under the purview of the new GO.

The Government has also issued another GO 669 to cover Bobbili, Parvathipuram and Salur municipalities which does not come under the purview of GO 678. The concerned authorities have been directed to take action against those who fail to comply the two GOs.
