Says will stop selling lands that are originally meant for the scheme implementation
Visakhapatnam District Collector AK Singhal promised to sanction houses to all eligible persons. This is in response to a demonstration by the beneficiaries at the Collectorate on Monday. The district administration has initially agreed to sanction houses only to 4,600 applicants out of 12,600 but later decided to oblige all the eligible persons those who have paid money between 15,000 to 20,000 and complied with the relevant procedures.
It may be recalled that the State Government launched Rajiv Gruhakalpa under Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Mission with 15,300 houses for Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC).
In a press release, the District Collector Singhal stated that he had agreed to sanction houses to all the eligible and stop selling the lands which were originally meant for the scheme. The Collector will also monitor the implementation of the scheme by keeping himself in touch with the State Housing Corporation, the nodal agency.
