Chak De India slogans echoes in south coastal districts
The festive mood prevailed over the north coastal districts of Visakhapatnam, Srikakulam and Viziangaram on Monday after India's victory over Pakistan in Twenty 20 World Cup. Slogans 'Chak De India' echoed the environs as India defeated Pakistan in the grand finale at Johannesburg in South Africa.
Youngsters celebrated India's victory with fireworks at places like MVP Colony, Dwarakanagar, Seethammadhara, Gajuwaka. The festive mood also evident in Viziangaram and Srikakulam districts also. Fans roamed on roads wishing passersby . People made special arrangements to watch the match along with their families, friends and colleagues, cheered for the 'Men in Blue'. They distributed sweets, especially at Ganesh pandals.
Earlier in the day, people lined up at the 42 foot Ganesh Idol at the Industrial Estate, at the Sri Sampat Vinayak temple and at various Ganesh pandals set up as a part of the Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations to pray for India's victory. Immersion processions were stalled during the peak moments of the match as the organizers enjoyed their favorite cricketers play.
