Sub Registrar is absconding
The officials of the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) have booked a case on Sub-Registrar of Palakonda in Srikakulam district, R Damodara Rao for possessing disproportionate assets. The officials detected property excluding five house plots worth over Rs.50 lakhs during simultaneous raids at his office in Palakonda and residence at CBM Compound in Visakhapatnam and K Kotapadu. He is believed to be having cash deposits, bank lockers with gold, silver and other ornaments on his name.
The DSP of ACB K Koteswararao said that the documents pertaining three plots in Madhurawada, two in Kapparda and one in Bheemili, cash deposits in IDBI Bank, ICICI Bank,Andhra Bank and State Bank of India amounting to Rs.30 lakhs and 75 tolas of gold ornaments (22 tolas of gold ornaments in a locker) were found in his name.
The officials also raided the houses of his attendants. Damodara Rao was sub-registrar at Madhurawada before taking charge at Palakonda only a couple of days ago. At present, the Sub Registrar is absconding. A case has been registered and investigation is in progress.
