Rains to continue for 48 more hours
Visakhapatnam experienced a uninterrupted rains for the entire day, thanks to the monsoons and the low pressure in the Bay of Bengal. The sky looked cloudy in the early parts of the day, uninterrupted rains started from about 11 in the noon and continued throughout the night. Normal life in the city got interrupted with children unable to comeback home on time. The working class too had problems returning home from their offices.
The Meteorology Department says that the rain will continue for another 48 hours. The city experienced about 93.3 mm of rainfall in just 6 hours time. People on the coast line are alerted and fishermen community are directly not to go for fishing. The District Administration has setup a special control room at the District Collectorate. The Control Room can be accessed by dialing 1077.
