Order worth over Rs. 394 crores
The Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP) has entered an agreement with BHEL on Monday on expansion of its existing power plant with a 667.5 MW turbo generator along with a 330 TPH boiler. The turbo generator will be manufactured by BHEL's Hyderabad Unit and the boiler by its Trichy unit. The order value is Rs. 394 crore and will be executed with a a time period of 26 months to coincide with the commissioning of VSP's Stage I expansion to 6.3 Mtpa capacity.
BHEL is a long term associate of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant having supplied all the existing four turbo generators and five boilers. BHEL is also involved in the supply of turbo blower 4 along with its consortium partner Man-Turbo, Germany for which the agreement has already been signed.
The agreement was signed by the General Manager (projects) Sahoo on behalf of the VSP and Additional General Manager RP Gupta on behalf of BHEL in the presence of BHEL Director BP Rao and VSP Directors PK Mishra and Y Manohar.
