The one-day nation-wide strike by the Employees of the Central and State Government and the teachers and workers community on Tuesday has hit many Government Departments. Almost all the Government offices including the Irrigation, Excise, Panchayat Raj, Treasury and the Collectorate wore a deserted look. Employees converged at the APNGOs Home under the aegises of Visakhapatnam District Joint Action Committee of Employees, teachers and workers in protest against the Government's anti-employees policies
They have formed a human chain at the Collectorate seeking a right to strike, abolition of new pension bill, 30 percent HRA to employees and teachers and hike in the interest on Employees Provident Fund.
