Shanti is captured in Madumulai forest range in 1972
Shanti, an elephant at the Indira Gandhi Zoological Park died of ill health. The elephant is suffering from ill health because of an infection in the urinary tract and a respiratory problem called laboured breathing. In fact, only last week a renowned Veterinary Doctor Dr. anipkar from Kerala visited the Zoo. The elephant is also suffering with a pain below the ear and the Zoo is feeding it with vitamin supplements.
Shanti is captured in the Madumulai forest range in 1972. The age of the elephant is believed to be 56 to 65 years from observing its teeth, according to Zoo Curator Rahul Pandey.
