Cultural programmes to be organized

Speaking to media on Monday, the Managing Trustee of Bhabatarini Charitable Trust S Banerjee said that Navaratri celebrations at Kalimatha temple will commence on October 12, 2007. He said that during the ten-day festival, Koti Kumkmarchana, Chandi Homam and navavarana puja would be conducted.

Banerjee said that the daily rituals would commence from 9 AM and the Koti Kumkmarchana will be conducted by Vemparala Bhaskara Sharma. There are no charges. The puja, kumkum and other puja accessories will be supplied by the temple management free of cost.

The temple pratishta day celebration on October 18 coincides with the Navaratri festivity and on that day special homam would be conducted. He added that annadanam and vastra danam would be part of the day's rituals. Devotees may contact temple management for further details. A cultural programme 'Jogo Tumi Jago' by a Bengali cultural group on Tuesday would herald the festivity.
