Nearly 180 delegates attends seminar

The three day 19th National Congress of Parasitology concluded on Sunday. Nearly 180 delegates from all over the country and foreign countries like Vietnam, Nigeria, Brazil attended the seminar. The Vice Chancellor of Andhra University (AU) L Venugopal Reddy who was the chief guest for the valedictory released the book 'A Source Book of Techniques and Research Needs' written by Professors K Hanumantha Rao and Shyama Sundari.

The Indian Society of Parasitology president Veena Tandon conferred prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award in parasitology on Rao for his works in parasitology. Professor R Madhavi was awarded fellowship by the Indian Society of Parasitology and she is the 22nd person to receive the fellowship. The 20th National Congress of Parasitology will be held at North Eastern Hill University in Shillong.
