Begins process of identification of candidates
Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, the BJP State President Bandaru Dattatreya said that in the event of mid-term polls to Parliament which are likely in February 2008, the BJP would contest in all 42 seats from the state. He said that the party is identifying the candidates for the mid-term elections.
Dattatreya said that the party would highlight the Ram Sethu, terrorism, suicides of farmer, assigned lands and price rise of essential commodities and related issues. He said that that the party is planning rath yatra across the State and reiterated its support for separate Telangana. He said to media that the Chief Minister had promised 80 lakh houses for the poor but not even eight lakh houses were constructed during the last three and half years rule. He alleged that both Congress and TDP are making tall promises with an eye on the forth coming elections.
Dattatreya called upon the party workers to prepare themselves for the early elections. He maintained that the party would stage a dharna demanding MSP for farmers at Hyderabad on October 15, all Collectorates across the State on October 16 and mandal centres on November 4 to 6, 2007. He further said that a Chalo Tirupati programme would be organized on November 1 to protest against the prorogation of other religions in the holy town of Tirumala. He demanded that HSL to bring under the control of Defence sector.
