Protests against Government decision on Digital meters
The decision of the State Government to install digital meters to auto rickshaws, the auto rickshaw workers association which is affiliated to CITU conducted a rally on Saturday. The rally was taken out from TSR Complex to Dwaraka Bus station at 11am in the morning in protest against the same.
The secretary, K Satyanaryana speaking to reporters questioned that the day to day life of autoworkers is very difficult in the present times and how auto rickshaw drivers can purchase digital meters that costs Rs.5,000. He added that the passers are preferring to travel by services and taking into cognizance, he requested to withdraw the proposal otherwise, he threatened to intensify their agitation across the State.
The association vice president Babji Rao and Joint secretary Appalaraju and others participated in the occasion. Traffic at the APSRTC complex came to a halt for a kilometer range and the commuters was put to inconvenience.
