Announces special package and reservation from Tuesday
The Andhra Pradesh Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) is plying special buses for the pilgrimage to Sabarimala yatra, according to the APSRTC Regional Manager N Venkateswara Rao. Rao said that the special package for six and nine days are formulated. A Seperate Reservation Counter has been set up Dwarka Bus Station complex and another at Swamy Ayyappa Temple at Sheelanagar on Tuesday. RTC is also proposing to get reservation at the TTD Counter at MVP Colony. APSRTC is running this special bus service every year starting from 2004.
Rao announced that 18 Super Deluxe, eight Deluxe, 12 Express and 6 Palle Velugu buses would operate from November 13 from the city. It plans to operate nearly 100 trips before January 11, 2008. The buses under the package of six day tour will run from the city covering Vijayawada, Kanipakam, Bhavani, Palani, Irumali and Pamba and reach Sabaramali. In return, it touchews, Tirupati, Sri Sailam, Annavaram and reaches Visakhapatnam. The fare is fixed Rs.2,200 for Super Luxury buses, Rs.1950 for deluxe buses, Rs.1575 for Express and Rs.1310 for Palle Velugu bus services.
Under the 9 days package, the buses will in return touches Trivandam, Kanyakumari, Rameswaram, Madhurai, Tiruchi, Srirangam, Kanchi, Tirupati, Srikalahasti, Annavaram and reaches Visakhapatnam. The fare fixed under this package for Super Luxury bus service is Rs.3,000, for Deluxe bus service Rs.2,650, Express Service Rs.2,150 and for Pallevelu service is Rs.1790. For 9 days tour, APSRTC announces another package also. In the press conference, Deputy CTM Y Narasimharaju, Depot Manager K Srinivasarao, Traffic Assistant Manager V Srinivas have participated.
APSRTC's special tour packages to Sabarimala earned deacent earnings too. It ran 59 trips to Sabarimala in 2004-05 with 2364 passengers and earned Rs. 39,01,034. Similarly, in 2005-06, it transported 2208 passengers in 55 trips and earned Rs. 41,6,254. In 2006-07, it ran 68 trips transporting 3218 passengers and earned Rs. 56,84,575.
