Police arrests him soon after coming out of court premises
It may be recalled that a non-bailable warrant was issued against the Telugu Desam Party MLA Chengala Venkata Rao in a case relating to the death of a fishermen at Bangarammapeta some time back. 8 cases were registered against him at Nakkapalli and Payakaraopet police stations on different issues.
Soon after the death of a fisherman in a clash, he disappeared from the scene and was found not traceable. The court has issued a non-bailable warrant against him and the police are on the hunt for his arrest. The High Court has directed him to appear before the court and submit the bail papers within three weeks even before the lapse of anticipatory bail.
In a dramatic turn, the police arrested him soon after he came out of the court premises. The police arrested him on the plea that they have not received the bail papers and took him to Yellamanchili Police Station. Advocates T Venkata Ratnam, K Kondala Rao are appearing on behalf of Chengala Venkata Rao have submitted the bail papers and got him released after fulfilling all the formalities.
