Police arrests seven persons including a PG girl student
The City Police Commissioner, N Samba Siva Rao at a press conference on Monday said the police busted a fake currency racket and seized Rs.5,69,500 from the accused. According to him, the police arrested seven persons involved in the racket including a girl student pursuing her post graduation.
On a tip off from the old criminals, the Gajuwaka Police Station Inspector Ravi Varma along with his team went to Aganampudi and arrested a scooter mechanic Nageswara Rao along with M Koteswara Rao who belongs to Pedagantyada and seized Rs. 1.20 lakhs of fake currency from them. On interrogation, they disclosed the other names of P Nageswara Rao of Gavarapalem and Hardware professional K Sivaram Prasad belonging to Sabbavaram and seized Rs.30,000 worth of fake currency notes. The police also seized a color printer, laptop and related items for making fake currency notes from them. They also arrested the key person A Subba Rao and his daughter Harita, who is specialized in Adobe Photoshop and other desktop publishing software belonging to Nellore and A Sundara Rao and seized Rs.4.19,500 from them. The police also seized a computer, color printer and related items from them.
The City Commissioner added that some criminal cases are already pending against Y Nageswara Rao and K Sivaram Prasad. Both Sivaram Prasad and Harita are computer professionals and the gang was making fake currency with their assistance. The Commissioner expressed that the role of some important persons in the racket is not ruled out.
