RTI Commissioner speaks at a press conference
In a review meeting held on Monday at R&B Guest house, the Right to Information Act (RTI) Commissioner R Dilip Reddy in a press conference said that on the eve of completion of enactment of RTI bill, a State wide review meetings will be held to elicit the progress in implementation of RTI.
The review meetings will be held on November 6 in Visakhapatnam, November 12 in Guntur, November 13 in Vijayawada and November 17 in Warangal and Hyderabad. He added that the Commission has received 5,300 complaints and out of which 4,400 were solved and remaining 900 are in various stages.
He further said in view of the difficulties faced by the district administration to send the information to Commission once in a year, it has been decided that the district administration will send the information once in three months instead of a year and orders have been issued to this effect. The Commissioner expressed satisfaction over implementation of RTI and for more effective use, the Commission will send some more proposals to the Government for more effective functioning. He said if any wants to know the information of third party, he has to obtain has to inform the same to him. The Commission is also accepting postal orders and Court fee stamps as fee for getting the required information.
